Top 20 Most Charitable Athletes 2015
DoSomething.org has published a list of top 20 most charitable athletes 2015 a few days ago to honor these celebs for their welfare work done for the humanity. Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list , accompanying him in the list are some of the greatest names from the different sports .Charitable sports figures based on three different criteria, including votes and nominations from the public, athlete’s influence on social media and advice from the Athletes Gone Good Advisory Committee, according to the list formulated by DoSomething.org.
01 Cristiano Ronaldo
Say what you will about Cristiano Ronaldo, but no one can deny his generosity. The Portuguese star is the most charitable professional athlete in the world ahead of like of John Cena, Serena Williams, Neymar Jr and LeBron James according to this list published by “Look To The Stars.” Cristiano has done a lot of charity work with Save The Children as well as providing help to the native Madeira when the flood struck there. The Real Madrid star paid more than $80,000 for a young child’s brain surgery, donated $165,000 to build a cancer center in Portugal, and flew to Indonesia to help raise money and awareness following a deadly tsunami, among many other wonderful things.
02 John Cena
WWE superstar John Cena is on the 2nd spot in the list of most charitable athletes 2015. 12 times WWE world heavy weight champion is working with the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’ to aid millions of people especially children. Cena, the WWE United States Champion, holds a record for by granting nearly 500 Make-A-Wish requests and he has also partnered with Susan G. Komen to raise funds and breast cancer awareness
03 Serena Williams
Probably most dominate female tennis star ever Serena Williams is on the 3rd position in the top 20 most charitable athletes 2015. Williams is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and the six-time Wimbledon champion is enthusiastic to help the people and she has done this by providing educational opportunities for needy youth around the world, the tennis star formed the Serena Williams Foundation and built schools in Africa.
04 Yuna Kim
On 4th place in top 20 most charitable athletes 2015 is South Korean former figure skater Yuna Kim. Yuan kim is a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. She donated over $83,000 to Haiti earthquake victims through UNICEF. In 2013 she Donated 100,000 USD to UNICEF, for Philippines typhoon relief in 2014 Kim again donated huge amount of 100 million for the victims and their bereaved families of Sewol ferry disaster through UNICEF
05 Neymar Jr.
The Brazilian sensation and one of the most talented and loved footballer Neymar Jr holds the 5th place in top 20 most charitable athletes 2015. Neymar has donated mammoth amount for good cause on different occasions and most frequently in helping FIFA’s 11 Against Ebola campaign.
