Faf du Plessis: First Player Who Never Scores a Duck in International Cricket.
The skipper of South African T-20 squad Faf du Plessis achieved another milestone in international cricket. He is the only batsman who never scores a duck in his 100 consecutive international innings after his debut in international cricket; including test, ODIs and T-20 matches. He has represented the African nation in 54 One Day Internationals, 20 Twenty20 internationals, 17 Tests (28 innings) so far.
The 30-year-old is also only the 8th batsman ever to play 100 or more consecutive international innings without getting out for a duck. In the sixth and final league match of the ongoing ODI tri-series in Zimbabwe, Du Plessis Scored 121 against home side and led his team to the final against Australia.
Players Who Never Score Duck in More than 100 Matches
Faf made his Test debut in November 2012; he became the fourth South African to score a Test century on debut. He scored 188 runs in the match and was selected as Man-of-the-match for his fabulous performance that ultimately led to the match being drawn and the series being square before the third and final test.
du Plessis made his ODI debut against India at Cape Town, Jan 18, 2011. At no 6 position he scored 60 runs in his debut match. He made his maiden ODI hundred on August 27, 2014 against Australia scored 106 off 98 balls while chasing 327 runs to win. His partnership of 206 runs with AB de Villiers for the 3rd wicket is highest for South Africa against Australia.
His second Hundred come 6 days later on September 2, 2014. He scored 126 from 109 balls against the same opposition goes in vain as South Africa lost by 62 runs. He scored his 3rd ODI century against Zimbabwe in same series on September 4, 2014.
Faf also represent South Africa in 20 T-20 internationals. Currently he is the captain of T-20 Squad.
